Stefano and Donna have been members of Ascension since 2016 and from their initial introduction to the church have admired its traditions and vision. Alan is a retired long-range planning executive who spent his entire working career with ARCO. He received bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He and his wife, Lisa, whom he met at ARCO, have been married for 42 years. They have lived in Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks for the past twenty years and have loved every minute of it. They have three grown daughters and three grandchildren whom they don’t see often enough, but ZOOM has helped.
Alan is a relative newcomer to Ascension Lutheran Church. Prior to joining the church, he and Lisa attended Westminster Presbyterian Church, where Alan served as an Elder, was active on several committees, and served as a construction manager for the church’s biennial “Bethlehem Experience”. His other volunteer efforts include serving as president of the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic, an organization committed to providing opportunities for young artists to perform with a professional symphony orchestra in front of a live audience. He is also active as a business mentor with SCORE, a volunteer organization that assists small businesses.
Alan is great believer in the small group experience. He was part of a group with three other men for a period of three years discussing discipleship, and the experience greatly advanced his faith journey.
